About me
Welcome, and thanks a lot for taking the time to visit my website. My name is Charles and I'm a self- taught photographer and filmmaker based in Leiden, The Netherlands (in between The Hague and Amsterdam). When it comes to photography I like to embrace a combination of both analog and digital processes in order to get the images that we are going for. I would describe my photography and videography as documentary based, and I always strive to capture people and moments in the most aesthetic way possible.
When I create live music sessions I wish to make the experience for the listener as immersive as possible. Often I will only use 1 camera and shoot the entire song in 1 take. This requires some pre-planning and it makes for some extra challenges, but the result is in my opinion always worth it. In certain scenarios it is better to work with several angles, it really depends on what suits the music best and what vision you as the musician has in mind.
